Why word count matters for essays
Admissions officers and professors take limits seriously — going 20% over or under can hurt your grade or disqualify an application. Common targets: college application essays 250–650 words, IELTS Task 2 essays 250+, and standard academic paragraphs 100–200 words. Your text stays private in your browser.
