1000 or 1024?
There are two standards, and they cause endless confusion. Decimal (1000): used by storage manufacturers and networks — 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes. Binary (1024): used by operating systems — 1 MB = 1,048,576 bytes. This is why a "1 TB" drive shows as ~931 GB in your OS. Toggle the checkbox to switch standards.
