How Kindle Unlimited pays authors
When a Kindle Unlimited subscriber reads your enrolled book, you earn per page read — not per borrow. Amazon measures this in KENP (Kindle Edition Normalized Pages), its standardized page count, and pays from a monthly global fund. The per-page rate shifts slightly each month, usually around $0.0040–$0.0050.
Why this matters
A 450-KENP novel fully read earns roughly $2 — often more than a low-priced sale's royalty. Longer, bingeable books and series do especially well in KU. Enter your KENP count and expected borrows to project earnings.
Estimates only — actual per-page rate is set by Amazon monthly.
